I know, I am usually all about the Friday’s with cloth diaper posts but… well, you know motherhood… so it’s Tuesday! When I told my son that I was late with my cloth diaper post, he went like this:
Shocking, I know… anyway, on to the post!
Zookaboo (formerly Zookies Crafts) is owned by Michelle Zook, who lovingly hand makes all her items in the U.S. of A! She is also sponsoring a $20 gift card in the New Baby, New Fluff Giveaway hop beginning tomorrow!
I think having diaper covers in your stash is a must! They are useful for fitteds and inserts. Prefolds and flats. You can fold your prefold and flat into fancy origami shapes and pin/snappi it, or just fold into a pad that lays inside the insert (my favorite way because it’s so easy!).
While I’m pretty diverse in my cloth diaper stash, I am always happy to add another cover because it seems I’m forever running out! Especially with TWO boys still using diapers.
Zookaboo’s diaper covers come in “Ready to Ship” and “Custom” where you can request sizes or a one-size, snaps or hook/loop, and fabric/print!
I thought these bicycles were so cute and little boyish!! Plus the black fold over elastic trim is striking!
The inner layer of this cover is PUL with a 100% cotton outer. Alone it can even be used as a swim diaper!
The double row of snaps gives you four waist settings. The one-size cover (10-35 lbs) also has four rise settings (3 snaps and then fully opened). The rise setting snaps are two snaps wide, which sometimes left a little gap on the sides where the elastic folded up, however I did not see any leakage happening as a result, so that was great!
I really liked how the cover fit over anything – even my Heavy Doody fitted diaper that was double stuffed for bedtime (yes, I was brave and finally tested a COVER only overnight!! I usually do pockets only!). No leaks at night, although the cover felt a smidge damp – I’d say for a cotton outer diaper cover that is good for nearly twelve hours of use!!
If all Zookaboo made were diaper covers, the selection of prints alone would be impressive: zebras, watermelons, whales, cows, gorillas, guitar picks… I have never seen so many whimsical prints in one shop! But Zookies also has bibs, wet bags, cloth wipes, loveys and blankets, cloth toys, and children’s clothing (some with matching diaper covers!)! Wow!
How many of you love diaper covers in your stash? (Raise your hand!).
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s giveaway featuring Zookaboo!
Thanks to Zookaboo for sending a diaper to review and offering a giveaway prize. All opinions are 100% my own!
