As a former journalist, I am excited to be bringing you the SCOOP on some new diapers that will hit the US markets this month! (Yep, get it here first!). Think you’ve seen it all with cloth diapers? I thought I had until I was sent two diapers (and some wipes!) from Itti Bitti!
When I got the Itti Bittis for my baby, I was shocked! They are so trim. I thought “How can this work!?” The crotch is cut super slim, and the diaper is compact. I worried my baby was too big! But no, they fit my son just fine. I had to get used to how trim they are, the high cut leg and low rise waist. I think this brand is going to give disposables a run for their money in the trimness department!
The Bitti Tutto (One Size AI2) has 3 funky inserts! They are cut really trim to match the diaper, and offer several layering options. You have a rear snap-in main insert WITH a snap-on booster that can double in several different positions using snap options. Then there’s a doubler-type insert for added absorbancy that snaps into the front. Sound like a lot of snaps? It is, but they are color coded so you can figure out which end snaps onto which part of the diaper! I thought that was imaginative! The funniest part of this diaper? – the ‘poo fence’! All around the back and side edges of the diaper is an elasticized “wall” that will contain messes! We are past the newborn stage to really test this out, but I can see it working QUITE well! Plus there are hidden hip snaps that help you adjust the fit – honestly, ours fit so well I didn’t have to use them, but I can imagine on a newborn, these would come in handy!
You CAN buy extra inserts and reuse the shell on the Bitti Tutto. I only had one set of inserts so I can’t speak to that aspect, but it’s a great option and that is why AI2’s are usually my go-to diaper. The only drawback to this particular AI2 is that I don’t think you could use other brands’ inserts because the Bitti Tutto is so trim, I doubt they would fit. Maybe with some clever folding!
Next up: The Bitti D’Lish (All in One) – I am starting to grow VERY fond of AIOs even though they aren’t the most economical choice. It is SO nice to just throw a diaper on and take it off and not do anything else (am I getting lazy!?). The D’Lish is made of minky outer with a suedecloth lining. Three layers of microfiber are sewn into the diaper, and a 2-layer organic bamboo flap booster is sewn on top of this. There are snaps underneath this booster for adding additional mini booster to be added.
And, both diapers have the ability to be rolled up and snapped shut when dirty, in case you are without your wetbag (as THIS mama often finds herself!)
Oh. And the minky – if you think people are in awe of the “modern cloth diaper” wait till you trot your baby out in a minky diaper – it’s like your baby’s wearing ermine robes of royalty! I love minky! Both Bitti diapers come in an array of 18 plush minky colors and there are seasonal / limited edition prints that are totally fun! (Check it out – they make a minky wetbag too – eeeeekkkkkk! So fun! I think I’m a little punch drunk on all this minky goodness!).
But wait…there’s more! Itti Bitti also makes Ultimate Wipes! I tried a set of White/Rainbow Velour wipes. I set aside a few for “lovies” and face wipes, and a few for diaper wipes. These. Are. So. Soft. My baby likes to go to bed with one as his lovie! As a diaper wipe, it is generous and thick, and really cleans up the messes – the softness has been especially great for my baby as he’s still getting those eczema rashes from time to time! I could use more of these!
Keep an eye out for these Itti Bitti diapers – they’ll be hitting the US diapering scene soon!
Win it: But of course, I am getting them to you first… you could expect no less, right? One lucky winner will win EVERYTHING I just reviewed!! Yeah – you got it – that’s an Itti Bitti Tutto, an Itti Bitti D’Lish AIO, and a set of 5 wipes! How awesome is that!?
