We’ve done a major, all-summer, down-to-the-struts, holes-in-the-wall remodel of at least one room in our house every year since we got married. We promised ourselves there would be no remodeling projects this summer.
Until we got this amazing challenge to give one room in our house a DIY mini-makeover, courtesy of Glidden paint and Walmart! We could not resist. And I knew the perfect room: our master bathroom. Our 1961 Cape-style home… well, we’re not exactly sure how it was put together because everything seems piecemeal. Oddball sizing on windows, framing, doorways, flooring, heat vents. Almost nothing has been standard sizing. That’s why it’s generally been easier to rip it apart instead of try to retro-fit everything. And even then we still run into problems with fit. And that was with professional help!
Our bathroom is the last room in the house to get an overhaul. Now, at long last, it will get a huge refresher! Check out my video for some of the challenges we face in planning this makeover:
We’re still trying to decide what will be feasible to accomplish on our budget and in our timeframe. It’ll definitely involve a fresh coat or two of Glidden paint. And probably something in this color palette (maybe. I’m indecisive!):
