He loves his big cars!

If you have been following our blog for any length of time, you might have picked up on the fact that my son loves cars. He started saying “Vroom!” at seven months.

After Dada, “car” was his first word. And anything bigger than a regular sized car, he calls “BIG cars!”

He especially loves “BIG cars!” that can dig and dump. “Dump it” was another early word of his.

Now he is saying all sorts of car related words. Like Tractor, “Nee-nah” (fire engine), Train, Choo-Choo, Beep-Beep, “Kkcrrsh” (crash), and more. But guess what? He still will NOT say “Truck.”

So, “BIG cars!” it is. And it’s pronounced just. like. that. “BIG” is shouted out, and cars! is said excitedly.

We were sent an EcoTruck from Sprig Toys, and of course my son was delighted to see his new Loader. He is just figuring out the digging action of this truck, and we can barely peel him away sometimes!

I think the best part of Sprig Toys is their products are kid-powered. No batteries, whirling gizmos, annoying noises (unless, of course, they are coming from your kid!). I love toys that let kids invent their own play world. My son can push his loader around for hours it seems! And I love hearing HIM talking and vrooming, not some soundtrack. I just like listening to his voice!

Sprig Toys are made from a special material called Sprigwood™, a child-safe bio-composite of recycled wood and reclaimed plastic. That wood smell the toys have… comes from real wood! But there are no paint or additives to the material used, so the toys is not only recycled, but it is safe! And, may I mention this is probably the sturdiest truck my son owns! It holds up to his battering!

Do you also enjoy toys that are kid-powered?

We love Sprig Toys! I like that he has to make his dump truck move and make noise too. He loves to take his to the park and play in the sand. At home he gives his stuffed animals a ride in it. Too cute that he says Big Cars and not truck. Those things are the sweet things we will cherish when they are big enough to talk all day lol. Is he saying Mama yet?

First, did I miss a link to Sprig toys? I thought you probably meant to include the link so I might just have missed it. I looked them up. Cool stuff. I like the story telling toys.

We, too, love kid powered toys. In fact, we often take out the batteries to stuff unless it's a musical toy. Those are fun because the kids will stop what they are doing and start dancing as soon as they hear the music. Sometimes our daughter will be be-bopping on the toilet. It's really funny. Aside from those, most of the toys are kid powered.

We even made sure to go with wooden Thomas trains that don't talk and have to be pushed on their own. My son has become quite eloquent with his train-speak. I'll hear him in there saying, "And suddenly James buffered up to the cars and chugged away...." It's great. I am so impressed with your little guy's words. He is just doing great things. And he must have just gone through a growth spurt. He looks so much older in those photos.
