I fondly recall little notes written in and on my brown bag lunches by my own mom. I looked forward to her sending little treats my way every so often. The irregularity of these surprises just made them more exciting!

Today I’m over on the Melissa & Doug blog, sharing another Lunchbox Notes idea for your kids! This ones a super easy and fun way to brighten up your child’s lunchtime! Hop over and check out my post about this fun and engaging sugar free, non-candy treat idea for your kid’s lunchbox – and it’s great for sharing with friends of all ages!

Mini sticky notes – come in lots of shapes and colors. Stars, flowers, mustaches, purses! Perfect for writing a note or including for your kids to write notes to friends!

Finger puppets – how fun! Can you imagine the giggles at the lunch table with these!

A photo – maybe something silly from the weekend, or a selfie of you!

Special toothpicks / food picksbento box accessories abound in so many exciting shapes and designs. Even if you’re not making elaborate bento lunches, a little pick goes a long way!

Paper straws – colors, dots, stripes, even smoothie sized!

Silly Bandz – fun to wear and trade

Shells – or any other memento from a summer trip

Comic Strip – a la Bazooka gum, include a cut out comic from Sunday’s paper

Confetti – okay the lunch ladies will hate you but how fun would it be to get a mini sprinkle when you open up your lunch!? Try dinosaur, footballs, or musical notes!

What else would you add to this list!? How can we make our kid’s lunches more exciting and show them how much we love them even when they are away from us!?
