The PB&J Wafflewich Recipe – A Classic, with a Twist!

Our family eats peanut butter and jelly for lunch oh, about every other day. It’s honestly one of my favorite lunch sandwiches and has been since childhood.

Our son adorably calls them “peanut butter and PBJ,” not understanding PB actually stands for “peanut butter!”

We love the sweet of the jelly mixed with the creamy salty of the peanut butter….mmmmm! And the fact that our whole family loves PBJ and it’s fast and easy to make!

Usually our PBJ’s are on whole wheat or honey oat bread, but after seeing all the delectable departures from traditional PBJ on Pinterest, I decided to switch it up.

Not only would we have PBJ at a totally different time of day: breakfast! But we’d also swap out the bread… With my favorite breakfast treat: waffles!

That’s right, we enjoyed Peanut Butter and Jelly Wafflewiches for breakfast! Our toddler was so thrilled!

Although he couldn’t help make the waffles yet because he’s only three, our son enjoyed deciding which flavor of Welch’s Natural jelly to have on his Wafflewich! He picked strawberry, made with natural vine-ripened berries! My favorite too!

Oh, and Welch’s Natural Spreads contain no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or colors, and no preservatives, and they’re grown right here in North America!

I think I have a problem: now I want to eat PBJs for breakfast AND lunch! Watch our breakfast PB&J Video!

And this is the perfect time of year to over indulge in the comfort of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Because April 2 is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day! Complete with the PB&J Your Way Facebook contest!
Brought to you by Welch’s, the PB&J Your Way contest is your chance to share your creative spin on a classic sandwich. You could win $500 and a year supply of Welch’s Grape Jelly. Plus 50 people win a sandwich keeper.

So…how do YOU make your PB&J?

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Welch’s. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
