10 Tips For Using Postcards to Promote Your Business

It’s so little, but so effective! How can postcards help promote your business (or blog)? Let me count the ways:

10 Tips for Using Postcards to Promote your Business

  1. Postcards get more attention than mass email (most of which end up in the junk folder)
  2. Postcards last longer than the average Twitter tweet or Facebook status (face it)
  3. Postcards are cheap(er) to send than regular mail
  4. Postcards are quick – people read and get your message, leaving plenty of time to check out your blog!
  5. Send to friends you don’t communicate with via Social Media outlets (you know, the Christmas card list – yeah, those people. You could even dig out your wedding guest list!)
  6. Hand out as extra-large business cards when you’re at blog conferences, etc
  7. Tack up on community bulletin boards in grocery stores and libraries
  8. Send as a thank you card to sponsors and/or giveaway winners
  9. Include an incentive / promo code (like 3 extra giveaway entries if they mention the postcard)
  10. Ask family/friends to hand some out to people they know

I recently received 100 free customizable postcards from DigitalRoom.com, an online printing company. DigitalRoom.com offers high quality, four-color postcard printing, along with a multitude of other printing services (business cards, bookmarks, flyers, calendars, etc). You can create your postcard with the Digital Room online design tool, or design your own in any layout program and upload.

I designed my postcards as a mini info-sheet about my blog so I can tell my friends and community about my blog business! Design was easy using Microsoft Publisher, and then I converted the file to a .PDF to make sure the fonts were embedded. Uploading and ordering my cards took me all of two minutes! I can’t wait to start putting these postcards to good use to spread the word about my blog!

Contact DigitalRoom.com for your own postcard printing to take advantage of their great services and prices.

DISCLOSURE: DigitalRoom.com did send me free postcards to use and review. I was under no obligation, and this review is my honest opinion based on my personal experiences.

I don't see a deadline for this contest, but I thought I'd go ahead and enter anyway. I think postcards are a wonderful, cost-effective way to get the word out about any business, blog, or brand. You should have taken a photo of yours! It would have been fun/interesting to see your design... :)[email protected]
