It’s been about 4 weeks since my baby weaned…, I still think about breastfeeding a lot. I kinda miss it. So, at least I still get to talk about it!
I want to share a great resource for breastfeeding moms. It’s an e-book by Tatyanna Wright and Melissa Macdonald called BREASTFEEDING: REAL MOMS TELL YOU HOW by Diversion Books. Previously, this book title has been a bestseller in print. As an e-book, it has upgraded features like inner-textual links to helpful resources, videos, photos and products, in addition to real stories from real moms across the globe.
Why should you read a book on breastfeeding? Personally, I am an info-junkie. Even if it’s a topic that I know a lot about, I will still read about it just to refresh my memory, or see if I learn something new! One of the best ways for a first-time breastfeeding mom to prepare for breastfeeding is to read and talk about it with people who have been there. Every mom’s experience will be different, but having current information at hand help.
A comprehensive e-book: every topic you can imagine about breastfeeding – the book covers it. Frank talk about how milk is made, feeding positions, rules for what you can eat, twins & multiples, and troubleshooting your breastfeeding are going to be so helpful!
The writing style is very simple, clear and easy to read. My favorite part was the links… if you come across something you want to cross-reference, click the link and be directed to more information.
And, the stories from real moms was surprisingly candid. They are not all feel-good stories. For once, a breastfeeding book has moms telling it exactly as it is. In starkly revealing narratives, mothers share their experiences with breastfeeding. The tears, the sighs, the pain, the giving up… it’s not all about the perfect breastfeeding mom. The moms in this book talk candidly about the inability to breastfeed, produce adequate milk, or maintain good mental health. Some of them had to switch to formula. Some of them chose to switch to bottle feeding. Some moms struggled and made it through some serious rough patches to continue breastfeeding. It was a very realistic picture of breastfeeding from every angle.
The fact that it comes as an e-book is, I think, the handiest part of this publication. One less thing to pack into your hospital stay bag! Check it out today! $7.99 on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
