Celebrate Puzzle Month in January!

I have such fond memories of doing large puzzles as a child, especially during the winter months! So, when I heard January is Puzzle Month, I couldn’t help but make “celebrate puzzle month” the topic of a few guest posts!

If you’re looking for some family time ideas, check out my guest post on the Maggie Bags blog about Celebrating Puzzle Month as a family!

I remember cozy times spent with siblings or a parent trying to figure out a particularly difficult section. We’d sort similar pieces into piles and then each work on a corner or section.

For little ones still in the pegboard puzzle stage, I talk about creative ways to enhance Storytelling with Puzzles over at Melissa & Doug! One way to encourage children to expand their storytelling is through manipulatives like peg puzzles!

Maybe your children have grown past the age of this style of puzzle. Playing with storytelling techniques is a way to refresh these useful toys! You can use those peg puzzles to add characters, dialogue, setting, and more to your child’s storytelling!

I’d love if you’d hop over and check out these posts – puzzles are a classic way to engage your family and avoid excessive screen time!

Are puzzles a hit in your family?

My toddler loves puzzles... her favorite toy for the last 6 months has been a foam puzzle. She's almost ripped/chewed it within an inch of its life, but she still plays with it daily!

I LOVE puzzles! Love them! When I first started doing them quite a few years ago I was still in the work force. I'd come home, cook dinner, clean up & then we'd get a puzzle out & our goal was always to finish it by bed time. We didn't always succeed, but it was fun to do it with a time limit. Now I work them with my grandchildren. They get so much satisfaction from finding & fitting a piece!
