Cloth Diaper Laundry Day!

The most frequent comment I get when people notice I cloth diaper is, “Oh, all that laundry! Isn’t it a ton of work?”

Yep, it’s a lot of work doing that cloth diaper laundry. That’s why sometimes, I like to give the diapers a break. Get them out of the house for a bit. Let them really run wild! After all, sun-drying is good for cloth diapers. Good old Mr. Sun sanitizes and sun-whitens diapers naturally.

My diapers don’t actually HAVE any stains on them at this point, but once in a while I like to let them get a little sunbathing in. They work hard. They should have a little fun. Just don’t put any sunblock lotion on them!

And me, I just continue slaving away doing all this cloth diaper laundry!

How about you? Do you find cloth diaper laundry has added to your work load? How do you get your diapers out of the house? 🙂

To Amber - cloth should help him train earlier. And my son (my first) did not wear cloth but I started him at 14 months and we were done by 18 months. We were greatly motivated as we were expecting our second and did not want two in diapers.

My son is almost 2, and the bloom is off the cloth diaper rose. I just want him OUT of cloth diapers altogether. At this point, the diapers do have stains, and they smell kind of bad. It's what happens when you have a toddler, and they have toddler poops.I do love sun-drying, though. And sun-drying my diapers inspired me to sun-dry our other clothes. I feel good about that. Even though I am looking at the potty eagerly!

At the moment, we sun almost all the time with the exception of some of the longer-drying diapers (AIOs and bamboo varieties). Those go in the dryer for a bit and then outside. Has it added to my laundry routine? No. I have less baby laundry from leaky diapers so I'd say it about evens out. And our electric and water bills reflect this as well.We wash every other day.
