I’m pretty excited. This is the year. When I’ll get sticky, glued, stapled, stickered items for Mother’s Day. The first year my oldest son can make things on his own!
Sure I’ve had crafty gifts from him, but I know they were helped along by adult hands. This year. They are his doing!
And thanks to Oriental Trading sending me a big batch of sample craft kits in exchange for our review, we’ll have plenty of materials!
I get a lot of holiday craft ideas from Pinterest, but there’s several right on the Oriental Trading website with the various craft supplies.
At the age of three, a good bet is to get easy “kits” where kids can affix stickers, color, and paint their own projects. Everything comes pre-packaged and often needs nothing more than what is in the kit. Like this Clothespin Note Holder Kit. I’m going to use it to hold recipe cards in the kitchen. And teach my son to spell “M-O-M”!
Big bags of foam stickers are a hit with children too. Use them for decorating gift bags, envelopes, cards, or containers. It was hilarious to watch my son deliberate over his choices.
Some projects like painted handprint cards and photo insert cards need adult supervision, but they are quick and easy and the result is lovely!
Oriental Trading also carries a big selection of craft supplies for you to create your own projects – I’m interested to try adhesive ribbon, adorable mustache brads, and feather butterflies (for a wreath!). Oriental Trading has craft supplies for everything from jewelry making to scrapbooking to VBS, holiday, and more! I really can get lost looking at all the cool craft embellishments and projects over there!
What Mother’s Day Crafts have you enjoyed seeing your kids bring home to you?
