Bring your dream kitchen into reality #DeltaFaucetInspired

The summer after our first anniversary, we tore down terrible fruit-themed wallpaper and ripped up dingy linoleum in our kitchen. It was the first {of many} home improvement projects hubby and I would envision and bring to fruition together. We dreamed of family time around the table so we decided to start in this most important space.

Delta Faucet brought my dreams back to life by sending a complimentary Addison stainless steel faucet to beautify the spot we spend the most time at: the kitchen sink!

It doesn’t hurt to linger over dreams, does it? Dreams can grow into realities. It starts with a vision. Visions become actions. Actions create… a beautiful reality!

As I mentioned previously, we didn’t have funds to complete the entire kitchen (and still don’t!)… so we only did half. We restructured the kitchen / dining area into an open floor plan and laid down Brazilian cherry hardwood across the whole space to unify the two rooms. The rest of our budget went to a peninsula cabinet and granite counter top between the rooms for storage and prep space.

I truly do love how our redo turned out… but have lingered many times over my dreams to finish the rest of the kitchen.

Also keeping the dream alive is my Inspired Living… In the Kitchen Pinterest board.

One of the first items I pinned was, of course, one of the Addison Touch2O Kitchen Faucets from Delta Faucet. With graceful curves, the Addison faucet has inspired me to bring grace and calm into our decor.

Currently we have a deep red paint on the walls, but… Now I’m pinning ideas like monochromatic backsplashes and white (or light) cabinetry – both to match the current counter we have between the kitchen and dining area and to exude a sense of peace. A fresh coat of paint does wonders for a room… opens up the space, brightens the mood… even if I can’t get new cabinets yet!

Perhaps we’ll keep the red. Perhaps not. If we stick with red, I definitely would love to have a decorative backsplash to set off the new faucet. Something with clean lines, and perhaps a glassy finish?

In my dream kitchen (besides simply more space!), I’ll also add an interesting lighting fixture over the sink – a small hanging light to add interest. And there’s no end to the DIY window treatment ideas for kitchens!

I love finding and adding new ideas to my Pinterest board – it’s amazing how a new faucet spurred us to take a second look around the kitchen, dust off our dreams, and get back to inspired living! View my Kitchen Inspiration board!
