What’s summer without a little, no make that a LOT of ice cream!? Our family was thrilled to drive into New York City yesterday for FREE ice cream! Breyers Ice Cream, makers of Americas No. 1 Vanilla ice cream, is celebrating its 150th birthday this year! I mean, that’s a lot of ice cream over the years and definitely something to celebrate! I remember my dad bringing home the black and white box of Breyers for special treats when I was a kid. I always loved the “ice cream with the specks in it” – that’s Breyers Natural Vanilla, and I’m not the only one who loved this flavor. Breyers Natural Vanilla is America’s Number 1 Vanilla ice cream! Made with fresh cream, milk, and sugar, it’s a delicious treat for hot summer days.
One thing I love about Breyers, they’ve always started with high-quality ingredients. In fact, that promise has been on Breyers packages for more than 100 years (and I’m an avid label-reader, so I know!). Breyers only uses milk and cream from cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*. And, the vanilla in Breyers products is 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified, and comes from sustainable vanilla farms in Madagascar.
Happy Birthday, Dear Breyers!!
For their 150th birthday celebration, Breyers introduced a new ice cream variety: Breyers Ice Cream Cake which features Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream and loads of chocolatey crunchies, sandwiched between Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream.
At the Breyers birthday party in Madison Square Park in New York City, our family had the chance to taste this delicious new flavor for ourselves. Seriously brought back birthday party memories from my childhood for me! Those chocolate crunchies are the best!
With our party hats on and a bowl of ice cream in hand, we all sang along with the crowd to wish Breyers a very happy birthday! (It was a celebrity sing-along with the appearance of star actors and singers! I confess I am so NOT in the know about today’s celebrities, but the crowd enjoyed it!). Madison Square Park is a lovely green spot in New York’s Midtown area. I’ve never been before but the trees and fountains and playground make it a lovely space to hang out with the family. In addition, Breyers had a large celebration area where everyone got free ice cream. They had a giant Breyers carton to walk through too. Inside were details of the history timeline of Breyers ice cream, real displays of their natural ingredients, and some fun interactive stations for kids. Like a hand-crank ice cream churn. And an ice cream toppings spinner!
I couldn’t wish for more this summer than a beautiful summer day with a bowl of ice cream in hand and my family at my side. Could you!? This post is sponsored by Breyers and IZEA and I was compensated for sharing this message. All opinions are my own.
