How I stayed sane for 2,400 miles. No lie.

On the road of motherhood and parenting, I think I just got a fresh new stamp in my passport!

Road Trip Mama!

Last week we drove from Connecticut to Florida. In 24 hours. Stayed for three and a half days. Came back.

How did we do it? Well, I am guessing partly we just have children (ages 3 and 9 months) who can handle it. But I did have an ace (or four) up my sleeve!

A diverse activity bag  for my toddler.

An iPhone. Seriously, how did we survive road trips before?

A husband who can drive just about forever without falling asleep (I, on the other hand drove for 4 hours and had to pull over!).

Plus, a bag full of snacks, including Quaker BIG granola bars! Because when you’re trying to make time on the road, you can’t afford to pull into every rest stop for snacks!

Handing one of these yummy, chocolate-drizzled bars to my toddler (or hubby!) was a lifesaver on this long trip.

But I also keep a few stashed in the diaper bag or my “snack pocket” in my purse for (much much much) shorter trips around town!! Or even in the house for snack time while my toddler colors and plays!

I was excited to see Quaker making these as a BIG Chewy version – I remember I used to give these out to my middle school runners as a snack after our cross country meets – but those were the regular sized bars. The big size is much more filling!

Having handy snacks made the miles go by, saved us from eating greasy fast food, and kept our tummies full!

How do you stay sane on the go?

I never know what my days will have in store for me and my family, so keeping Quaker® Big Chewy Granola Bars on hand help make sure we have the fuel necessary to get the day. Now the Quaker® Big Chewy Granola Bars have chocolate drizzled on top and are 60% bigger – perfect for my hungry family!
