How to Have a Cleaner Thanksgiving!

Holidays can be maddening! You’re supposed to enjoy time with family and friends. Instead you find yourself scrambling to keep counters clean, food hot, guests happy, and dishes from piling up in the sink! By the end of the day, you don’t even remember breathing let alone enjoying family time!

Here’s some great tips for keeping your holidays cleaner – some are mine, and some are from my sponsor, Method Smarty Dish Plus! Even though Smarty Dish is intended for the dishwasher, there’s some other creative uses for these dishwasher packets! Here we go:

Smarty Dish Quick Tips:

  • Combat sticky, greasy messes from the start by using pan liners and crock pot bags. Less mess!
  • For hand-washable dishes and knives, keep a pan of hot, soapy water in the sink, and drop all these items in as you clean up. By the time you’re ready to wash, most of the food will have soaked away.
  • Use fewer dishes. Prep items like salads, dressings and dips in the bowl you will serve in. Just wipe the rim of the bowl before putting on the table for a clean look. Fewer dishes = less time washing!
  • Thanksgiving turkeys cook for hours, embedding the trickiest stains you will fight all year into your favorite roasting pan. Drop a tablet of Smarty Dish Plus into your roasting pan and fill with hot water to soak while you enjoy your Thanksgiving feast. Come cleaning time, you will be amazed at how little scrubbing you have to do after dinner.
  • Did your tablecloth suffer the wrath of cranberry sauce? Remove fast-setting stains by adding one tablet of Smarty Dish Plus to a load of laundry (a warm or hot water cycle) for a bleach-free stain fighting boost.

hmm. i didn't realize method had dishwasher soap either. i just got a little holiday hand soap thing from the store yesterday for the bathroom though!! :)

i think my tips for holiday cleaning really just is one tip. try to stay on top of things. do a little each day, and have your family chip in. then things don't get out of hand and overwhelming.

i actually often clean the shower while i'm in it (i use baking soda) while i have conditioner in my hair. it lets my hair get nice and soft, and i'm doing 2 things at once.

i also scrub toilets just before i go to sleep- then they sit with the cleaner in the bowl over night and are super clean and disinfected when we wake up

I can't believe I've never tried their products. What is my problem!I actually didn't know they had dishwasher soap though. I thought it was liquid soaps only. Oops.
