It's a Wrap – Holiday Tip

Oh, I have so many things I can say about wrapping presents. This might be a 3 part post. My sister and I consider ourselves “pro-present-wrappers.” Our many years of experience at Munson’s Chocolates taught us well!

I’ll make this quick though as it’s not my regular post – just a quick tip. If you come from a family like mine, there are many people to buy gifts for, on both sides of the family. So how do you keep it all straight? I try as much as possible to use the same wrapping paper (or themed set of wrapping paper) for each person or family. For instance, my husband’s gifts might all be wrapped in the blue/silver set of papers I have. Then my sister’s will be wrapped in red snowflake. While presents for my brother and his family will be in holiday plaid paper. See?
This way, when we leave the house Christmas Day to visit our families, I know right away which set(s) of present to grab, because they all have same or similar wrapping! This isn’t a perfect rule. There’s always the odd-sized present that virtually defies wrapping. And some things simply need to be put in gift bags (which I put near the other presents they belong with). But hopefully this will help keep track of various presents.
Hope it helps you! Do you have any special present wrapping tips and strategies?

That's a great idea. Santa always wraps his gifts in Santa paper for us but everything else is just recycled bags. We have ongoing exchanges of the same bags between our friends. It's funny because we find ourselves having to purchase or make gifts that will fit in those bags! It's awesome! I haven't purchased any bags in over 5 years for any occasion.

Thinking maybe this year to do more Upcycle-y stuff. My mom always does gift tags out of old cards. Maybe I'll do wrapping out of kids drawings. I do like accessorizing (is that a word?) presents though and seeing what all the stores have!

Hi Julie! Thank you for stopping by my blog. I love your idea about using a jeans coaster as a plant trivet. At present, I do not have any ideas for zippers but I promise you I will give it some thought and see if I can come up with something. If not now, maybe sometime in the future.Your idea of using the same gift wrapping for each persons gifts is a great idea. This year, I plan to create personalized gift tags with pictures of the recipients on it instead of their names. This should be a fun twist to the usual. Take care!
