National Grilled Cheese Month: Seared Chevre & Jam Recipe

This post about delicious grilled cheese varieties is brought to you by Udi’s Gluten Free!

Here’s what I know. Put anything into French lingo and it’s instantly tastier.

Kidding aside, this grilled sandwich is perfect for a unique breakfast!

Since Udi’s makes a delicious Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin bread, I thought I’d try grilling it for a delicious grilled cheese version of breakfast toast!

Delicious alternative to your toaster
Ingredients
  • Udi’s Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bread
  • Chevre (goat cheese), preferably the kind with sweet seasoning like my cinnamon & cranberry. Plain will do.
  • Jam – I think a berry jam is best
Instructions
  1. Lightly butter one side of each piece of bread.
  2. Spread jam lightly on the UNbuttered side of one slice.
  3. Spread cheese thickly on the other slice.
  4. Put two pieces of bread together, fillings inside.
  5. Grill in a grill pan until both sides are toasted to your liking.
  6. Enjoy!
Notes
The raisins will char pretty quickly so just watch that you don’t burn yours!

My Chevre & Jam grilled sandwich was delicious – light, crunchy, and sweet. With a hint of creaminess from the goat cheese. Mmmmm!

I think Udi’s breads are particularly good toasted, which makes them the perfect choice for National Grilled Cheese Month!

What do you think of this unique spin on grilled cheese? Would you eat it? (Have you checked out my Grilled French Onion Soup or Grilled Mediterranean yet?)

I received free samples for my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
