Soap nuts for laundry without the fuss!

So probably one of the weirdest things about cloth diapering is this idea of soap nuts for laundry. I could buy EVERYTHING about cloth diapering – cloth wipes, washing dirty dipes, bags of dirties … oh yes. That all seemed normal.

But… soap nuts for laundry? You mean, throw some nuts or seeds or dried up pieces of what look like acorns into my washer and they’re supposed to clean my clothing? I was having a hard time with that!!

However, ever-curious, I HAD to try out soap nuts for laundry, and I did review soap nuts themselves last year. They do work. They work just fine! I have to say I noticed nothing amiss about my diaper laundry from throwing a little baggie of soap nuts into my washer.

Cool. Still, I can see many people not buying it still, despite what I or other reviewers say. So I was excited when BALM! Baby sent me a complimentary bottle of their Cloth Diaper and Baby Liquid Laundry Detergent for review. Not just because it’s a safe and natural detergent, but because it uses soap nuts extract as a main ingredient.

I think the familiarity of a liquid detergent is going to be comforting for most people!

How to use soap nuts for laundry:

Version 1: Get real soap nuts and put them in a muslin bag. Toss in laundry for 8-10 cycles. Replace

Version 2: Get BALM! Baby liquid soap nuts extract detergent and use just 1/2-1 teaspoon per load. For 60-120 loads! WOW!

See, BALM! Baby made it simple, easy, and understandable to use soap nuts for laundry. They made the ever-so-strange concept readily accessible to all! I love that!

Literally, a half teaspoon is all I use for regular laundry and one teaspooon for diaper laundry. The essential oils make my whole wash smell pungent and fresh!

I also got to try out the BALM! Baby hand sanitizer. So very handy with children who love to touch every-stinking-little-thing-in-public! Now, if you dislike that chalky-dry feeling most hand santizers give you, relax, because this hand sanitizer will make you feel pampered! There’s actually a moisturizer in it – Hawaiian macadamia nut oil!

Plus, it doesn’t kill the “good germs” – bacteria that is healthy for your skin. Those natural antibodies stay put!

I’m thrilled to have this hand sanitizer right at the start of cold and flu season!

Smells delicious like ALL the BALM! Baby products do because of those yummy lavender and orange oils!

There you have it – awesome soap nuts for laundry without the fuss. And hand sanitizer that makes your hands feel and smell great and keeps the yuckies off!

Don’t forget my past feature of BALM! Baby’s Juice Those Wipes – another fabulous cloth diapering product!!

Have you tried soap nuts for laundry yet!? What’s stopping you!
