We are mostly a dinner-at-home family. Which makes going out to eat at a restaurant a really special treat for our kids (and mom!). And now, you can celebrate summer with Kids Eat Free Sundays at the Danbury 99 Restaurant**! (Stay tuned for the giveaway at the bottom of this post!)
Kids Eat Free Sundays this Summer at Danbury’s 99 Restaurant
We love how dinner out can help us commemorate special moments or give respite to busy parents. I wrote last month about our visit to the 99 Restaurants near us, which gave us a huge break after our road trip to Washington DC. I love to time a restaurant meal after a hectic week to save us all some stress!
You know what else helps? When kids eat free! Yes, that helps stretch the old dollar, right? There are so many places you can find kids-eat-free nights, but I especially love that our local Danbury 99 Restaurant has Kids Eat Free Sundays all summer!
We go to church each Sunday so going out to eat after church is one of those special times that also spares me from having to scramble home to get lunch out. Plus, you can get this deal all day, not just at the dinner hour.
The New Spring Menu and other favorite dishes
Although ONLY the Danbury 99 Restaurant has the Kids Eat Free Sundays, ALL the 99 Restaurants have great food and seasonal specials!
Last time, hubby and I ordered from the new Spring menu which features delicious starters like Seasonal Vegetable Flatbread, a thin flatbread topped with a roasted veggies, provolone and mozzarella cheese and oven baked. (Sounds yum, right?).
Their Colossal Lobster Roll, filled with sweet and tender lobster meat blended with mayo and celery, or the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll are great choices for seafood fans.
Simply Seasoned Fresh Haddock is a light and delicious meal! And, don’t forget, all the fish served at the 99 Restaurants comes from a local fishing family, and is so fresh, the servers know the name of the boat each fish came from!
This Sunday, I tried out the fish tacos, hubby had the prime rib, which he said was delicious and filling (he didn’t even eat dinner later that night!). My brother-in-law had the grilled pork rib eye steak, which he said was phenomenal and couldn’t stop raving about the bacon marmalade!
Our boys enjoyed fun kids’ meals like sirloin steak with healthy sides and a small ice cream treat afterwards!
Celebrate summer and the end of the school year!
We loved visiting the Danbury 99 Restaurant with my brother-in-law! Dinner out on a Sunday gave us time to catch up, and the boys loved going out to eat with their uncle!
With the school year ending, it’s a great time to take the kids out out to dinner (especially when they eat free!). Talk about their favorite parts of the school year. Plan a summer bucket list! Celebrate small and big wins. Play my Dinner Out Bingo Game! Make going out to eat a special treat for everyone!
