There have been many times when I look at a baby item I’ve gotten for the kids and think, “Boy, I wish they made these in adult sizes!”
So it’s always exciting when a brand expands to offer grown ups the same quality and style as our kids. Brian James Footwear is one such company. Remember I featured their cute stretchy wedge pump last fall? Well, now there’s new summer shoe styles by Brian James Footwear.
Created by Angela Edgeworth, the founder of pediped shoes (which, if you don’t know how amazing those are, check out my latest post on kids’ summer shoes, plus a giveaway!).
Now, I am notoriously picky about shoes, as I think most women are… but for me, I absolutely cannot wear a shoe if it rubs or chafes my feet or toes in any way. I am super particular in that I will not abide foot discomfort. I can’t tell you how many shoes that means I end up donating because they felt good for five minutes in the store, but after fifteen minutes in real life… forget it! Life is too short for “wearing shoes in,” in my opinion (exception being hiking shoes and some sneakers that have to mold to your feet through a few wearings!).
When Brian James contacted me to try out their summer sandals, I was excited to see how their summer shoe styles would fit, since I love my pumps!
I received the Lynette wedge sandal in French Blue Suede – the dusty blue is a great neutral color for summer and can be dressed up or worn with casual jeans. On-trend with the new ankle strap sandal style, this shoe was just what I needed in my summer wardrobe to mix it up a bit.
True to my past experience, the Lynette French Blue Seude sandals fit like walking on a cloud. I found that remarkable, since they’re 2.5 inches high, but it’s true. I wore them to a wedding, church, and many other places, and never experienced that “new shoe” discomfort. Must be the cushioned footbed!
These shoes also never gave me that “wobble” that higher heels can give, especially wedges. You know, the kind where you’re walking just fine and then BAM your foot buckles underneath you because somehow the shoe didn’t get the message that you were moving forward?! No, the Lynette is a well-balanced shoe and I could walk smoothly in them!
My favorite part of the shoe is the ankle strap with Velcro closure. I have never had a shoe with this type of closure, so I really appreciated that I could get the fit just right – not too loose and not too tight! I will say the closure can be rather loud to open, so… don’t adjust in church. (Let’s not talk about how I know this!).
I could seriously get this shoe (or its “sister” version the 3.5″ Gabrielle with metal accents) in every color (comes in Taupe and Noir!).
What’s your summer shoe style!?
