Now that our son has gotten well into eating solids, we’ve branched out past rice cereals to help his little palette explore many kinds of foods. Of course, we always stay mindful of offering him the best, high quality food products.That’s why I was excited to review Tasty Baby and Tasty Brand products. Don’t you love it when you hear that a mom is the mind behind the products you buy? Well, TWO moms are behind the organic and minimally processed baby foods Tasty Baby. With backgrounds in journalism and culinary, two mom friends united to use sustainable processes and organic ingredients to create a tasty and pure product. I really wanted to try their blast-frozen baby foods, which preserve the vitamins and nutrients in the fresh food, however, no store in my area (and I called about 10!) carried the frozen line. So, instead I tested out two other products (frankly, I am surprised more stores aren’t carrying this great product line in my state!).
First, I tried the Tasty Baby Tasty Day Oatmeal – the flakes definitely lived up to their “fluffier” advertising. I found these flake dissolved almost immediately in milk, yogurt, and/or baby food puree. I even tasted the oatmeal flakes myself, and they weren’t bad – slightly like rice paper, only with an oatmeal flavor. I definitely liked the Tasty Baby cereal being so easy to dissolve as it saves me time mixing up breakfast or dinner! And, Tasty Baby Oatmeal Cereal also contains prebiotics, which are good for baby’s tummy!
The other product I tested out was Tasty Brand Organic Fruit Snacks. Our baby isn’t old enough for these yet, but as they were the only other Tasty product I could find, (and if you’ve been reading my blog all along, you may have noticed my love of Gummi Bears (Haribo!)) I had to try them. After all, with two teeth already showing, our baby will be moving into the snack food arena soon! These Tasty gummi fruit snacks are giving my beloved gummi bears a run for their money. They are soft, not overly sweet, and have delicious flavors: strawberry, peach, tangerine, lemon, tropical & mixed berry (no cherry – yippee! I hate picking out all the cherry!). The flavors REALLY do taste like real fruit, too. I was only sorry to find that my DH actually ate all the packets after I tried the first one. So apparently someone else in the house likes these snacks too (and owes me a new box of gummis! 🙂 But best of all, they do NOT contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, which we try to avoid in this house!All in all – Tasty Baby food is a wonderful company run by moms like us, who just want quality food products for our kids. So, I recommend these products and plan to continue using them (and lobbying for more stores to carry a wider selection!).

I have not heard of Tasty Baby either but next time I'm at Whole Foods I will take a look! There is so much more baby food now then 5 years ago that I have to learn it all over again!I'm very excited to see fruit snacks because my boys LOVE them and I don't buy them very often because of how nasty they are but these look a lot better! :)As for myself, I'll eat a gummi if handed to me but I don't crave them!

We'd love to try it.We started offering finger foods to our little one this past week and she is totally into them. Guess we're starting to move past the "mush" and add some variety. So far she eats anything we give her. She still loves her cereal made with breast milk. But we've started some YoBaby Yogurt also mixes with cereal. She likes bread and cheerios, puffs, and yogurt melts. I've even fed her a few black beans trying to entice her brother to expand his eating variety. It was not successful. He just wanted to feed his beans to her, too! But he did eat fish sticks today without batting an eyelash. So I'll take the small victories!Love Gummy Bears but, love those sour worms more!So have you thought about what kind of toddler pants you want? My 300th posting gift for you.
