Wool, Again! Northern Essence Wool Care Review

I laughed as I started this review, thinking how it’s sort of hard to review wool care products, because you only have to wash your wool about every month. So it’s not a product that gets used daily. Still, it is good to have wool care you are comfortable with.

Previously, I used a liquid wool wash. But Northern Essence makes a great wool wash bar soap. What I loved about hand washing my wool with their lavender scented wool bar was simply the feel of the soap as I scrubbed my wool. I could tell exactly how much soap was getting on my covers. The lather was a better feel than just “soapy water” swishing through my covers. Their wool wash bar is a frugal $5.50 and comes in unscented and seven other scents.

I applied the bar directly to my wet wool to get some lather on the material. Then gently massaged the soapy wool until I felt it was clean. Rinse, squeeze/press water out, roll up your wool in a towel to press out more water (or spin cycle). Then lay wool cover flat on a towel or drying rack.

Northern Essence also makes a touch up lanolin mister. This is for those days where the cover is not dirty,  but perhaps the absorbency is needing a boost.

Lightly spray the lanolin mist over the diaper – especially on the inside area. Gently massage into the wool and let air dry for a bit. This should give your wool that boost it needs to prevent leaks but still give you a few more wears before you need to fully wash and re-lanolize!

There are probably a hundred scents listed with descriptions! Yummyones like Black Raspberry, Coffee Caramel, and Peach Melon!
