After my second week (thankfully not in a row!) of being sick for three days in a row (pregnancy related), I have realized I need more resources to entertain my little dude when I am flat on the couch!
I had heard about preschool activity bags before and was excited to create some when my son was older. The idea is to have a collection of self-contained, independent activities, each in their own bag. Ready to go at a moment's notice.
Now, the great ideas for activity bags I have found online seem more geared to the three and up crowd. But I did put together a few bags that I think my nearly-two-year-old can handle!
1. Contrast Chalk bag - contains five sheets of black construction paper, and four small pieces of colored chalk (the smaller size is better for little writers!).

2. Color Sorting - contains a crafters shadow box (dollar store) and several of each color pom pom. I stamped the inside of several box sections with various colors to indicate where to sort the colors!
Hopefully, he'll enjoy these activities! And I have tons of ideas for more activity bags, which just require a few more materials than I currently had on hand. But I'll be sharing more posts with you as I make more activity kits!
What's been a good "activity bag" for your kids?

You could do a flannel one - with a mini flannel board and flannel pieces to put on it. I was just thinking of doing one of these.
I like this idea. I have some of that chalk board fabric with which I was thinking of doing something like this. Great idea.
How are you today? Feeling better, I hope? How does this compare to your first pregnancy?

Thanks for the ideas! I have a soon to be toddler that I need to keep entertained while I homeschool my big kids so I'm constantly on the lookout for ideas. Thanks for sharing!

I love the color sorting box! Great ideas! My kids always enjoyed sitting and listening to audio books. That got me through many illnesses and naps as well. Somehow I can't see Asher sitting there listening to a book while you nap. 🙂 He is way too busy of a boy. If he likes magnets a small sheet pan with magnets might be a good idea. LE always liked (and still does) to make magnet creations. I noticed you don't have any activity bags that contain markers. 😉

Great ideas! I need to make a few of these for my little girl. Have you seen quiet books? I'd love to make one of those...but oh, to find the time to do it! Hope you're feeling better!

I love this, this is a very good idea. At early age of our child we must start giving them this kind of activities to enhance the brain capabilities.
