Yes, homeschoolers have first days too! We go to programs and co-ops where I like my kids to dress neatly but still be able to get down and play with friends. First day of school jitters shouldn’t be over what to wear. I got to pick some boys’ styles for the first day of school from Crazy 8, and took it to the playground to show how fun and style go together!
Boys’ styles for the first day
Layering in our area of the country is key. By September, mornings are crisp but by noon it’s hot! Throw a striped hoodie on over a bright t-shirt. The colors pop and the hoodie can come off for recess!
Because of the in between weather conditions, I like to have a light jacket for the kids. A lined windbreaker over several layers will usually get the kids into late October (and be ready for spring showers in March and April!).
My four year old really doesn’t like pants that hinder his movement, so getting him to wear a pair of jeans is a battle. Crazy 8 has pull on denim joggers with the look of jeans but the comfort of sweatpants at the waist. My guy was skeptical at first, but after playing in them, he told me that he liked them! Win!
Graphic tees for older kids are a hit
For my oldest, graphic tees are a must. He loves pictures and words he can now read (!) on his tees. This bear shirt reminded us all of our summer camping trip.
Mixing stripes with graphics is really cool these days, especially when the stripes are soft and muted in color like on this button down. This could be a dressier look for school pictures, but removed for class and playtime.
Rocker jeans from Crazy 8 are stylish skinny leg pants for boys. I didn’t used to like skinny leg pants for ploys but I have realized they are great for avoiding fabric getting caught and ripped on things like bike chains or playgrounds. These aren’t incredibly tight either so you get the best of both fit and style.
Don’t forget sturdy shoes for kids. Canvas high tops are classic right now. Or a heavier boot style will last the winter months and protect those toes against the cold! Of course, if your child needs to take his shoes off and on at a school, check out some of the slip on shoe styles at Crazy8.com.
And that’s just a few of the boy’s styles for the first day of school! Crazy 8 has plaid button downs, stripes, and more graphic tees than you can shake a yardstick at!
Crazy 8 made our back to school wardrobe so easy to put together for the boys. With unique looks for every kid’s sense of style and play, the outfit ideas are always a great place to start, and then you can dress up or down to fit your child’s style (and school dress codes!).
How will your kid be rocking his back to school style? Check out the back to school outfit ideas on Crazy8.com and tell me which one your kid would pick out!
This post was sponsored by Crazy8.com and I received outfits to facilitate this post. All opinions and good times on the playground are completely my own (and my family’s)!
