Radio Flyer Customizeable Scooter ~ Review

Bike riding was the highlight of our days when I was younger. We didn’t have sleek and speedy scooters back then. We’d ride our monstrously heavy bikes up and down the incredibly steep hill I lived on – pretending we were riding horses, driving race cars, or spaceships. Whatever type of vehicle was needed, we found it in our bikes.

When scooters first came out, I believe I had already graduated college. I remember thinking I’d never be able to figure them out (I am a bit clumsy). So I was a little glad I had missed this trend by a few years.

Okay, but now that we got a Radio Flyer RFX scooter to try … boy did I not know what I was missing!! Zippy and lightweight – while I wouldn’t have been able to fly down the hill with no hands, I would’ve had a lot of fun with this growing up!

My son really can’t use this yet, so it’s more of a toy for visiting friends who are a bit older, and for bringing to Grandma’s house. But I have been having fun scooting around our hardwood floors! We have a Cape-style house and I can actually circle the entire downstairs without putting my foot down if I cut the angles just right!

Yeah, I’m having a little too much fun with this! It really rides smooth and handles nicely, and now I’m wishing I had been born in the era of scooters!

Aside from being a smooth-riding scooter, the Radio Flyer RFX scooter also has style! You can detail your ride with 10 custom Clipz – there are 50+ decals to put on the clips, so you can spell out your name, have cool graphics. Slide the Clipz onto the post, and you have a very cool scooter like no one else’s!

It’s a great riding toy for kids to learn balance on without the fear of falling off a bike. The scooter is surprisingly sturdy for such a slim frame, and the foot deck is a bit wider for better balance. And, the handlebars adjust, so this scooter will fit your child through many growth spurts! Your kids (or you!) will be gliding in style!
