First, can I just say how kind and nice a person she is? She generously sent me a few samples of her baby wipes, and a facial scrubby to review – and took the time to read my About Me page to figure out what kind of prints I would favor! She got it dead on by sending monkeys, soccer, and camping prints! So adorable! I have been using these fine wipes for a few weeks now. Made of flannel and birdseye cotton, they are soft and flexible, and the perfect thickness to fold nicely into your wipes box and use easily on baby’s bum.
Soft & Scrubby Baby also carries nifty makeup remover pads. Save money and waste by using cloth facial pads! I purchased a few sets of red bandana flannel pads for myself and a Christmas present for someone (that’s a secret, of course!). Sheila also hand-crochets facial scrubbers from cotton yarn – you can use these with your favorite facial cleanser to wash or exfoliate your face. They are really gentle on your skin, and I love using mine!
Another great item I purchased from Soft & Scrubby was flannel diaper inserts. I wanted to boost my night-time diapering, and these were perfect. I tuck these absorbent layers (4 layers of flannel!) into my pocket diapers, or place on top of inserts. Sheila custom made these for me, and it was fun to choose my fabrics (more camping, construction, and other cuteness added to our stash!). Another great use I found was when my baby had a rash from (I thought) the microfiber. I have a LOT of microfiber inserts. So instead of not using them, I simply layered one of Soft & Scrubby’s flannel inserts on top of my microfiber to protect baby’s skin. This really sped up the healing process for baby’s rash!
About the Company:
The first Scrubby Baby wipe was created about 8 years ago when Sheila tried to find a creative use for some older flat diapers. She continued to make wipes, using quality birdseye and super cute flannel – and a business was soon formed! She’s been busy for almost 5 years now and now makes Soft and Scrubby Wipes, Basic Wipes, diaper inserts, nursing pads, and hand-knit wool soakers, along with facial scrubbies and make-up remover pads.

Sheila loves making custom items (I can tell this is true from my experience!). She’s open to changes in size, shape, color or print. Check out these customs: Dolly wipes, dolly dipes, facial tissues, cleaning cloths, rectangular inserts for gdiapers and even upcycled receiving blankets at customer’s requests! Even the make-up remover pads came about as a request from a customer who saw her nursing pads and wanted something small for using with face cleanser!
With all these great products, Sheila still considers the Soft and Scrubby Wipe her “signature” product. And, you’ll be happy to know she’s a cloth diapering mama – she started when her child had a bad rash, and ended up with quite a stash of fitteds, prefolds, AIOs, even wool soakers and longies! Her advice to new cloth diapering moms:
“Sample a few styles of diapers before you purchase a lifetime worth of cloth! Chances are you’ll settle into something you never thought you’d like. If I ever have another baby I’ll probably go for some quality prefolds and wool covers! I’m thinking basic, economical, and breathable!”
