This event is brought you by our exclusive event sponsor: A Mother’s Boutique!
I didn’t even know designer maternity jeans existed… until about three months into my pregnancy when I stopped at a local maternity store, and the girl who worked there said I just “had to” try a pair. So I did. For fun I tried on 7 For All Mankind Maternity jeans with the Secret Fit Belly (my favorite tummy panel type!).
Oh the softness! I was hooked. So imagine my delight when I connected with 7 For All Mankind to bring you a review of their maternity jeans!? Yes, I was ecstatic!
7 For All Mankind is known for premium denim, sophisticated fit, and fashionable washes and designs. I love the inky blue New York Dark wash 7FAM Maternity Bootcut Jeans. It’s a rich dark blue that can dress up… but then again, can kick around the yard accepting flowers from a chivalrous young man! Hey, it’s like the paparazzi is out capturing my designer debut! (Don’t be looking for me in the society pages yet though!).
Truly these are the softest pair of jeans I have ever worn. The fabric is 11 ounce Italian denim – listen, I’m not going to pretend for a second I know what I’m talking about when I say that, but being half-Italian it must be good. And what it feels like is a high-quality, thick denim with that already-broken-in softness that makes these jeans a dream to put on. (There’s a teeny 2% of spandex to assist!). Super comfortable!
If you’re a tall mama, you’ll be gaga over the leggy length of these jeans – 34-1/2″!! they are so long on me (I’m 5’5″) I’ll have to get them hemmed, but in the meantime I just roll them up.
Size-wise, they tend to run small. I initially received the 28’s, which were the size I tried on in the store (those had the Secret Fit Belly which I think makes them fit differently), but in this style, the 28s were way too tight. So I went up to a 30, and they fit much better! (I am typically a size 6 in mainstream jeans). I have gained a bit in the hip/thigh/rear this pregnancy so that may account for the sizing issue (say it ain’t so!). Just take careful measurements! Once you get the right size, they will fit well!
And… Cheer with me – these jeans are Made in the USA!! Hurray – I mean, what is more American than denim? (Okay, apple pie and baseball!). You can find 7 For All Mankind denim on their website, in their stores, and at high end boutiques around the world! Maternity jeans are just a sliver of what they carry – including a full line of women’s clothing, denim for men and kids, and footwear. And check them out on Facebook and Twitter!

"Caught" hmm? I guess I would have to be doing something a little naughty. Maybe stalking Channing Tatum?
