Best Bottoms Cloth Diaper Review

It’s not fair, really. Every time I think I have a favorite diaper, along comes another G-R-E-A-T diaper to love.

Best Bottoms is my new heart throb. I received this oh-so-cute chocolate and blue giraffe print diaper from Best Bottoms along with three of their microfiber inserts.

Best Bottoms is a one-size diaper that fits birth to 35 pounds. The cover is SUPER sturdy in construction and very fast drying.

Price-wise, the Best Bottoms system is comparable to other shell/insert systems. A shell/cover is $16.45, and inserts are $3.76. So to get 3 diaper changes would be $27.73.

What else to love:

• The leg gussets – this is my FAVORITE feature on a diaper! They really “contain” you know? You can’t beat leg gussets for a really good fit.
• Snap-in inserts. Now, I’m not saying it doesn’t work to just lay an insert in a diaper and call it a day. But the front and back snaps that lock this Best Bottom diaper in place gave it a nudge up the scale in my opinion.
• Made in the U.S.A. Someday I’ll do a whole post on this, but it sure is nice to find a “home-grown” diaper! Best Bottoms says “as much of the raw materials made in the USA as we could find” go into their diapers.
• Did I mention the cute giraffe print? They have 3 colors of giraffe print and a cow print. This is already such a great diaper, there’s really nothing left to add but more fun prints!

Best Bottoms inserts come in 3 sizes (S, M, L). We tried the Large, and honestly, as even BB suggests on their website, I bet you could skip the medium size. There is the option of a Hemp/Cotton organic insert, which I would love to try, as we’re slowly shifting  our stash to natural fibers. Maybe another time! The Stay Dry inserts we tried worked great – very absorbent and the contoured shape helps with fit.

We took our Best Bottoms diaper with us on our travels to New York City, and BB travels well – a very convenient option when you’re trying to change your baby on your lap because there are no changing tables in Little Italy!
