Cloth Diaper Storage Ideas

As my husband mentioned in a previous post (rife with sci-fi allusion!), the cloth diaper situation in our house is growing and growing… of course, I think this is a great thing as it means I can try out new diapers, share them with my friends, and offer you great giveaways!

But where to KEEP all these diapers? Ah, there’s the rub!

I have found the best method is my 3-drawer rolling cart (stolen from my mother’s camp counselor days!). It is perfect for stashing my stash!

The top drawer holds my cover/inserts like Flips, Thirsties, and Bum Essentials.

The middle drawer holds my fitteds and miscellaneous diapers like Pooters, Sustainable Babyish, Glow Bug and others.

The bottom drawer I use exclusively for my night diapers like Bum Genius, Tiny Tush, Charlie Banana, Mother Ease and more! (Yes, I am proud to say my night diapering has expanded and I should do a whole post on that!).

When I have ALL my diapers washed, stuffed and organized, this cart is FULL to the max!

I use the oddball cabinet on my son’s dresser (what in the world is that even FOR!?) to store wetbags, diapers he’s outgrown, and disposable inserts and such.

Then… downstairs I keep a basket with a changing pad, a couple diapers and a pack of wipes so I don’t have to run up and downstairs all the time.

That’s how I store my dipes. Now I’m wondering… how do you store your cloth diapers?

I actually use the changing table dresser that comes with the nursery set - I have changed it a couple times over the past year, but now prefolds and cloth wipes are divided between the two end cabinets. I have fitteds/covers in one drawer, pad covers/wet bags/disposable liners in one drawer, and pockets/AIOs in the third drawer.

I'm lucky enough that our rental has a built in space that is perfect for a changing table and has 2 shelves with doors under it and a shelf above it. I keep all the pockets for daddy and daycare along with the creams and wipes in a basket on top with the changing pad. On the shelf above I have fitteds and nighttime diapers in seperate piles. Underneath behind doors I have a basket that hold covers and extra inserts that we use. My prefolds are in a pile next to it and plastic shoe box holds all the inserts that are not used. Its nice and neat and there are plenty of shelving space as I keep getting more diapers.

I use one of my sons dressers, Top drawer is all pockets, second drawer is flips, fitteds and extra inserts, thirs drawer is wet bags, disposable insets, disposable liners and a thing of disposable wipes. Then we have a small drawer (over the useless cabinet) with wipes and then in the cabinit i have a few plastic storage drawers for socks and bibs and i have a basket with all his shoes.
