What seems like a very long time ago, I did one of my first diaper reviews. It was actually only last October!
Remember this little muffin?
That was 6 months ago when I reviewed a Thirsties Duo Wrap Cover with a Hemp Prefold. Now I’m back to tell you Thirsties is in my top 5 Night Time diapering solutions. Here’s what I said about Thirsties then and how I feel now.
THEN: I have never had a leak in this diaper.
NOW: I admit that by now, there has been a leak or two, but never when I have put the diaper on him. So clearly user error (you know, when other people who don’t CD put the diaper on loose because they are afraid of making it too tight?).
THEN: The Thirsties Duo Wrap is very trim.
NOW: Yes, it still fits my baby trimly, even though my baby is bigger!
THEN: It held up [overnight] – 8 hours with two inserts.
NOW: Still going strong. And now my baby is sleeping nearly 12 hours in the same diaper, and I still do not have night time leakage.
THEN: I think it’s the great leg gussets that give room for the baby to move but keep the diaper snug against the skin for zero leakage. (Those were my exact words!)
NOW: I KNOW it’s the great leg gussets that allow baby to move while keeping the diaper snug for zero leakage (hard to improve on the above statement).
Clearly, I am as much in love with the Thirsties Duo Wrap and Hemp Prefold as I was then. But best of all, consistently, I use this diaper as a night time diaper (I love it so much, I all too often grab it during the day! But for this event, I managed to restrain myself and wait for bedtime more often!).
Thirsties sent me the snap version of the Duo Wrap this time, with another great Hemp Prefold. I am a “snap” girl through and through, so this was perfect for me! We’ve been using this diaper regularly for night time, adding a second insert for extra soaking power.
Results? Dry baby in the morning!
If you’ve never been introduced to Thirsties, their prefold is a bit different – it’s sewn into a circle and then you double it for thickness. Fold in thirds, lay into the cover.
You should read my first review of Thirsties to see what a cool company this is – started by a mom from the ground up. Check out Thirsties online, and be sure to request a free catalog – especially if you are new to cloth diapering, this catalogue has a wealth of information!
Don’t you want to win one of these fab diapers for your baby at night? Of course, let’s go:
Disclosure: I was sent a product to facilitate this review. I was not compensated in any other way, and all opinions are 100% my own.
