Thirsties Duo Wrap Cloth Diaper Review

I love trying out new diapers. I think it’s going to be my life goal to try every kind of diaper there is. I’ll probably never get to the end of that line up! But it’s worth a try! I’m one step closer as I have spent the past few weeks enjoying my first Thirsties Duo Wrap and Duo Hemp Prefold. I chose the Mango color because I LOVE orange! Isn’t it fun?

What a great diaper! I admit, I was never a fan of prefolds because of the “work” involved (ha ha, yes, I know – super lazy, but… I prefer to just lay down an insert and go). But the beauty of the Thirsties Duo Wrap is the prefold CAN simply be folded in thirds and laid in like an insert. I love that. No pins, Snappis, fancy folds. I am all about ease of use!

Now pick yourself up off the floor and sit back in your chair so you can finish reading. Yes, I lie not. This diaper has held its own! I even tried it overnight (gasp!), and usually I am a strict “pockets for night time” girl. I had to test this diaper to its limits!! And it held up – 8 hours with two inserts (the Hemp Prefold and a microfleece Flip insert). I think it’s the great leg gussets that give room for the baby to move but keep the diaper snug against the skin for zero leakage.

The Thirsties Duo Wrap cover is very trim, and super easy to use with hook/loop closures (snaps are an option). What I like about the Duo Wrap is that it actually comes in TWO sizes, and both have adjustable rise. The idea is that probably no “one-size” diaper will truly fit well from birth to potty training (depending on when that happens). So Thirsties’ solution is to create TWO diaper sizes that can be adjusted. One for 6-18 lbs, and the other for 18-40 lbs. I’m glad I have this diaper because my son is a big boy for his age, so… I suspect we’ll may still need diapers beyond the 35 pound mark!
