Ubbi Diaper Pail – Not Just Another Pretty Face!

What’s Ubbi?

Only the makers of the most awesome cloth diapering accessory… EVER!!

I have been stalking, drooling over, pining for… uhhh… researching! the Ubbi diaper pail for months now, and am thrilled to get the chance to review one for you, my readers! The Ubbi stainless steel diaper pail caught my attention for so many reasons.

Primarily, it’s a very attractive diaper pail (and I have high standards – ask hubby). With smooth lines, sleek curves, and an array of color choices… well, you’d think this was a luxury automobile!

But this diaper isn’t just another pretty face. Oh no. It’s got brains as well as beauty! Smart features like a child safety lock keep babies and toddlers from playing with and getting into the pail. (’cause you don’t want that! I caught my toddler eating a crayon today and that was bad enough!).

And savvy, this one is – saving you money because you can buy the cloth pail liner and never have to purchase more bags! Or if you do use plastic bags for disposable diapers, you don’t have to buy special bags – just use a regular kitchen trash bag. Although, Ubbi does make biodegradable bags you might want to check out!

You might have one (or two) little stinkers… but the Ubbi pail doesn’t stink! The powder-coated steel does not absorb odors like plastic pails. Rubber seals keep odors in…and a sliding lid does not permit big stinky WHOOSHES of air whenever it’s opened. So… stinks stay in until diapers are removed, then the stink goes with them! Until now, I have used a stainless steel trash can for my dirty diapers… but every time I open it, I get socked in the face with a gush of ammonia smell! Yuk! Now I don’t have to fear the stink!

I love our new diaper pail. I know, all those gorgeous colors, and I request gray – which is classic… and so me, because I like accessories that will fit in any room, in case I have to move it. Right now, it fits neatly next to our downstairs changing station without getting in the way! (Because of its oblong shape, it’s ideal for just about any room situation!). Oh, and nifty trick – the Ubbi pail has a little handle in the back, making it easy to transport.

Beauty, brains, this pail has it all … are you not in love with it yet? Then let me give you one more detail… as if sleek, modern style, and stink-free diaper disposal weren’t enough… you can also customize this pail with self-sticking, removable vinyl decals! Choose from nine different styles to match just about any nursery decor! Kids can have fun playing with the decals, creating their own look!

Check them out at UbbiWorld – it’s not much more than my other stainless steel pail that does NOT keep odors in (nor look as classy!). Come on, you know you want an Ubbi pail, right? I know I want ANOTHER one for the upstairs too!

What’s your favorite feature of this diaper pail?

Thanks, Ubbi, for sending a product for review! All opinions are 100% my own!

I've had this on my registry for a few months now and it's on sale for 46% off on Amazon today! I don't think all colors were on sale, but I wanted the grey one anyways. Good discount on this item as it normally costs $80.

I can tightly fit 6 GroVia Hybrid shells and 18 GroVia soaker pads or about 24 BumGenius Freetimes. This is by tossing or stuffing them in as I usually do. I also shake the Ubbi a little bit to get the cloth diapers to settle in. Hope this helps!

I am personally thinking about putting this on my baby registry and had some reservations. I can't seem to find out how much it holds. We are planning on using Wee Care Diaper Service and want a pail that will hold a week's worth of dirties (not covers just inserts). That is comparable, but a little less than a 13 gallon kitchen trash bag. Do you know how many you can fit into your ubbi pail?

Did you notice any mildew while using your ubbi pail and cloth diapers? I was purchasing my cloth diapers the other day and mentioned I have an ubbi pail. The retailer said with the air tight seal it can produce mildew, and he wouldn't recommend the pail for cloth diapering. I was just wondering your experience.

No I have not had any mildew problems, however I have had the rubber seal constantly fall out after 2 years of usage and so now I just use it without the seal and it's fine.
