As I think about all the phases of babyhood I’ll be revisiting with this new little boy coming our way, there’s a few I am kind of steeling myself… like teething? Yeah, even though seeing that little glimmer of pearl showing through is a huge milestone (and calls for lots of Facebook and Twitter updates!)… teething is a lengthy process, and can be filled with much discomfort (for baby too!).
My son never liked chewing a cold washcloth or teether, so we had to try other remedies. With the new baby, I’ll try Camilia – a teething relief medicine reported to relieve teething pain instead of just masking it. Although I haven’t had the chance to try Camilia out yet, I’ve used other Boiron products, and I like what I hear about Camilia:
Camilia is a homeopathic, one-step teething solution, easier than the two-step numbing agent / anti-inflammatory often used by parents. Camilia’s sterile, single-use liquid oral doses are pre-measured; they do not cause numbness, drowsiness or an upset stomach.
What’s in Camilia? Three natural, plant-based active ingredients:
- Chamomilla 9C HPUS* – Relieves teething pain accompanied by irritability
- Phytolacca decandra 5C HPUS – Relieves painful gums
- Rheum officinale 5C HPUS Relieves minor digestive disorders associated with teething
Camilia can be used for children ages one month and older, in doses as frequent as every 15 minutes, with no risk of overmedicating, drug interactions, masking of other symptoms, or numbing your baby’s gag reflex. Camilia includes NO benzocaine, dyes, sugar or preservatives, and it is tasteless.
BUY IT: Get a $1.00-off coupon at www.camiliateething.com, and join their Facebook community. Find Camilia at Walgreens, Whole Foods and The Vitamin Shoppe, as well as many local health food stores for about $7.99 for a 15-dose box.
*Homeopathic Pharmacopœia of the United States.
Thanks to Camilia for sending a product and providing a giveaway! All opinions are 100% my own.

So happy we won this! It's been working great on nights that baby is irritable. It helps her rest when I know she's tired but wound up. Thank you!

Haven't heard of this product but I do like and trust Boiron's allergy medicine and this is definitely something I would try with our little one. Unfortunately none are sold in stores near me so I'll have to order online :(
On a side note I've been looking up cloth wipes solutions today and came across a blog that recommended using a squirt bottle as opposed to the spray bottle to keep in diaper bag. They're easier to find than a good small spray bottle. And going through what I used with our first I had a little bottle that foamed the wipes solution. The one I have is made by Sheepish Grins, 'Foaming Wipes Solution'. It's their normal wipes solution but in a foaming bottle, pretty cool :D
