Finding our kitchen inspiration #DeltaFaucetInspired

My husband picked out our house. Without me. Bought it sight unseen (to me). To be fair, we weren’t married. Or even engaged. But I mean, come on. The writing was on the wall.

Unfortunately, so was bad kitchen wallpaper.

Fortunately, my first job as a new homemaker was whipping the kitchen / dining area into shape.

Unfortunately, with new walls, flooring, and peninsula needed, the budget wouldn’t let me finish the other half of the kitchen (cabinets, counters, sink). Our current half-finished look is uninspiring, complete with broken faucet sprayer, so I’m looking for kitchen inspiration!

Fortunately, Delta’s giving us the opportunity to upgrade, and I’ll be documenting our kitchen sink transformation, courtesy of Delta Faucet.

Whenever we start a “makeover project,” our thoughts are all over the place. I want this that and the other thing. Hubby just wants to get it done.

I’m one of those “I’ll know it when I see it” decorating idea people. So to focus our thoughts, I took Delta’s style quiz to see what kind of decor I really like.

Just as I suspected, my style is transitional:

So. I like a lot of different things. Great. How to pick a faucet then? Easy. I let Delta help! I used the Delta discovery tool to get a better idea of which faucet fit our vision for our kitchen.

The tool guides you though questions about finish, faucet handles, sprayers, tall or high-arc spouts. Even asked me if I wanted Touch2O Kitchen Faucets. Honestly. I had no idea there were so many choices and decisions. I mean, Delta has everything but the kitchen sink. Yeah, I planned that.

But seriously, the discovery tool gave us a lot to ponder. For instance, the tool recommended two faucet choices (both transitional style!) which we compared. Our final faucet choice has one hole installation, and we hadn’t considered how many holes our current sink has, so we’ll have to check on that. Perhaps an entire new basin will be needed?

We’ll be installing the Addison Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O® Technology to upgrade our kitchen sink. To fit with our casual (er, wait, transitional!) style, we’ve picked the Artic Stainless finish, which matches our new stainless kitchen appliances!

Besides a visual upgrade, I’m excited about this faucet technology, Touch2O®! Have you ever had to leave the faucet running because you had dirty hands, (or a child that just shouted he’d had an accident in the other room?).

With Touch2O Technology, a simple tap anywhere on the faucet spout, hub or handle activates the flow of water. An automatic shut off stops the flow after four minutes to prevent waste when water is not needed. Touch2O Technology relies on the science of capacitance to detect human touch.

I’m always concerned about cross-contamination (thanks to a sister who is a Serv-Safe certified chef!). Touch2O® Technology activates the faucet with the back of a hand or elbow. Great for after I’ve handled raw eggs or meat, preventing the potential for harmful bacteria to spread. With our new faucet, I’ll feel like the kitchen is prettier and cleaner!

I can’t wait to show you my other ideas for sprucing up the kitchen in my next post!

What part of your home would you give a quick upgrade if you had the chance?

Delta Touch2O Technology for your kitchen and bathroom is precisely in tune with your every touch. Take the quiz to learn which faucet style best describes you at deltafaucet.com.
