Merry Fluffy Christmas: Mi Amor Shoes & More (Sponsor Spotlight)

Are you ready to hear about another great sponsor of the Merry Fluffy Christmas Event? Welcome to Mi Amor Shoes & More!
About Mia

Mia, an Etsy/Ebay crafter, loves shoes. I think we can all relate! She has over 300 pairs of shoes personally! Wow – that’s shoe heaven for me! Her love for shoes prompted her to start selling shoes online on Ebay – she has more than 1,000 shoes for sale! Along with her shoe-love, she loves sewing, and has made handmade items since she was a little girl. A few years ago, she decided to add “her pretties” to her Ebay store, and then recently branched out into an Etsy shop called Princess MiaMia

For Mia, sewing is relaxing and makes her very happy. She loves the idea of turning a lump of fabric into something useful. And pretty. Mia is also a giving person. Her son was born a special needs baby, and she has a preemie niece and a preemie nephew, so she knows the importance of giving to help these children. She donates to March of Dimes and does the walk every year. She gives her time and money to the Easter Seals, and even worked in a home for girls years ago – the “most rewarding job I ever had.”
About Mi Amor Shoes & More
Mia has style by the armful! She loves rockabilly, pin-up 40’s and 50’s style shoes. She crafts primitive-looking quilts: “I love rag quilts…so pretty, in a messy way!” She’s even turned her kid-fabric crayon rolls into an artistic expression!
Not only does she love shoes, Mia also loves pretty things. She has an “inspiration wall,” (you can see some of this on her Facebook page)where she displays fabrics to get motivated to make new creations. She adores cotton and says, “No person should love cotton as much as I do!” I think cloth-diapering mamas can understand the love for a soft cotton fabric! She tries to use as much organic material as possible, and uses food grade materials and organic essential oils in some of her products. She has made cloth diapers, cloth wipes, wipes solution bits, and cloth diaper soap that she sells in her various shops.

Here’s what she says about cloth diapering:

When I was pregnant with my son, I started researching everything. I spent a lot of time on google. I reconnected with a friend …who “talked” about cloth diapering. When I was 7 million months pregnant my mother and I went to a baby show and I saw the NEW cloth diapers. WOW! I was amazed. I continued to google. I found free patterns. I ordered fabrics. I sewed them for my soon-to-be-here little man. I ordered some cloth diapers on eBay and loved those too. I talked my hubby into (mostly) cloth diapering. And 2.4 years later we still cloth diaper (along with potty training). I recently sewed my little man some trainers. I encourage friends and family to cloth diaper, but most of them do not decide to do it. There is something that makes me feel like a mom from the 50’s when I hang my little tornado’s diapers on the line. It’s really fulfilling to know you are doing the right thing for yourself, your family, your baby, and the Earth!
