You know what I love about my state? We are close to everything – New York City, Boston, and of course, all there is to do here in the Hartford area. But… Sometimes you just want a getaway. And now you can plan a quick summer getaway or vacation direct out of Hartford, with new low-fare flights on Spirit Airlines.
New, Low Fare Summer Vacation Destinations out of Hartford!
This spring, Spirit Airlines just expanded their service area, with three new vacation destinations: Myrtle Beach, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. Take direct flights out of Hartford / Springfield’s Bradley International Airport to these new hot spots!
A nonstop flight to Myrtle Beach from Hartford is only about ninety minutes. Think about that – those shining beaches and rolling waves could greet your feet in less than a morning’s travel time!
And let me tell you from experience, as I have flown out of Bradley International Airport extensively: our small state allows for BIG travel because our airport is easy to get to, but not overwhelming. You won’t hit a ton of traffic just trying to get to the airport. Parking is abundant and inexpensive with many parking lots near the airport that shuttle you over in minutes. Just get dropped off at Terminal A and you’re steps away from check-in and your gate.
Spirit Airlines new low-fare flights out of Hartford make family travel simpler and easier. That makes me happy, too, because now that the boys are older, we’re looking forward to more travel with the kids.
Why fly with Spirit Airlines?
Hartford stands out as the nation’s 60th city to join Spirit’s expanding travel network. Here’s what makes Spirit Airlines different, and why you should consider a flight out of Hartford this summer:
Ultra low fare prices – Spirit is the “Home of the Bare Fare” – there are no add-ons to your fare price. No “free bag” or “free drink” that you won’t use anyway. Just you and yours from point A to point B.
Frill control – Spirit can offer such low fares on flights because they allow travelers to control their options. Pay for what you take with you, not for someone else’s “free” luggage. It’s like ordering a la carte, instead of getting the expensive buffet but hardly eating anything.
Fly the Fit Fleet – Spirit’s planes are among the youngest fleets around. That means they are safer, and more fuel efficient. This equals money-saving for you!
Cozy Seats Keep it Simple – More people flying, means lower costs per person. Spirit keeps the seat design simple – the seats don’t recline, so there’s room for more seats per plane. And you don’t end up with someone’s head in your lap!
Our family just got back from our first trip to one of Spirit’s new nonstop flight destinations from Hartford. I’ll be sharing more about how the Bare Fare works, and what you can do to save even more money when you fly with Spirit Airlines.

Which travel destination would you pick? Myrtle Beach, Orlando, or Fort Lauderdale?

I think we do have a Spirit Airlines here in Denver - I'll have to double check. Because you know I would choose Myrtle Beach! :)
