I love hearing stories about when I was younger, or tales of my mom and dad’s family life … but it’s hard to keep all the relatives straight when there are so few photos … in the sixties and seventies slides were the big deal… but who hauls out the slide projector now?
I’ve been bugging my parents for years to organize those stacks of slides in the closet so we can SEE them! Transferring our family slides to DVD with YesVideo photo scanning services was so easy (well, I gave my mom the hard job of sorting through the slides!). My mom pulled the slides she wanted and numbered them in order. We did 250 slides representing about one decade of life!
I went online and ordered my transfer, which involved easy steps of picking a background, music choice and type of service. Then I mailed a package of slides off to YesVideo!
Within 2 weeks, I had an email with a preview of the slideshow and clips, and then about a week after that a box came in the mail with DVD, movie popcorn, the original slides repackaged into sturdy cardboard boxes for storage, and a half hour of fun memory watching!
There’s really no replacing the joy of watching family memories and hearing old stories about family life decades ago… I got to see pictures of my brother and I as babies that I’d never seen before! Check out a fun one minute clip from our slide transfer – you’ll see pictures of ME blowing out my 2nd birthday cake!! So fun!
The slideshow was set at a good pace and the music (I chose classical, which was overall good. I thought sometimes the music was a bit sad – I wish there was more specific control over the music choices that appear in the video, but you can only select a STYLE of music right now.)
Here’s how YesVideo processes slides:
- Scan photos at 600 dpi and slides at 2000 dpi.
- Manually rotate each image to correct orientation.
- Manually crop images to minimize borders.
- Manually enhance image quality through color correction.
- Manually remove dust and scratches.
- Return original slides & pictures (along with new DVD movies)
YesVideo also works with tapes, film, and memory cards to get your photos and videos in tip-top shape for viewing fun! And if you don’t want to mail in your photos, you can drop off at over 34,000 retail locations!
