This post is brought to you by Johnsonville.
I love trying new recipes. Especially when they are fast and easy. And make use of my crockpot! Like the slow cooker meatballs we had this weekend!
When I received a lovely package from Johnsonville and Heinz to try out the NEW Johnsonville Frozen Meatballs, I was intrigued by the recipe included. It sounded much like my hubby’s semi-famous sweet and spicy kielbasa we bring to cookouts and parties. Only with meatballs…I couldn’t wait to find out!
Just three – that’s it – ingredients make up the slow cooker meatballs recipe. Make it in the crockpot or on the stovetop (very fast) so it’s ready when you are!
Although I usually make my meatballs from scratch, for this recipe I used the Johnsonville prepared frozen meatballs (the freezer section). These came in handy this weekend for pulling together a fast meal after being at a teacher conference all day!
Check out my slow cooker meatballs!
I served them with a side of Buttery Parmesan Pasta and a veggie (not shown).
The flavor was sweet and tangy – very tasty! Now, I will say I was surprised at the fat content of these meatballs – three meatballs contain 26 grams of fat! Just be aware of portion size! However, the rest of the ingredients, for a prepared food, were not so bad. There’s no MSG, artificial flavors, or colors.
Sometimes, having a few prepared foods like the new Johnsonville frozen meatballs are great for last minute get togethers, busy days, or for pot lucks!
