So excited to bring you today’s Tot Explorations post! I got such a great response from last week’s window clings post!
We went to the beach this weekend, probably for the last time this year. Our son had so much fun, we hated to have the day end! So… My hubby is so creative, he put together a “beach on a blanket” in our driveway! (note: we do not have a sandbox, otherwise I don’t know that we would do this! LOL).
We pulled out rocks and shells we had collected in the past and added them to the blanket along with a box of sand and his beach toys! He had so much fun digging and dumping shells and rocks, just like when he was at the beach!
It was a great alternate outdoor play activity for him, and let him continue to “explore” beach life here at home!
I might try this out in the basement one day this winter, to bring back fun memories of our time at the shore this summer! Wouldn’t it be fun to sit on a blanket with sand, some shovels, shells, and maybe a few books about the beach… in the middle of winter? I think so!
Not to mention the October weather felt like June, so it was a perfect “day at the beach!”
And check back every Monday for fun ideas to get your tot exploring his or her wonderful world!!
What’s your tot up to?

Love this idea! My son hasn't ever been to the beach, so he doesn't know what he's missing out on :) But we don't have a sandbox, either, and this would be a fun activity. I don't know that I'd be brave enough to attempt it inside...be sure to blog about it if you do ;)
