It’s true… all kids need is a cardboard box. Literally.
A few weeks ago, I got a large item for review and it came in a big cardboard shipping box. Suddenly inspired, I folded the flaps to the inside, stuck my son inside and handed him his crayon box. Genius!
He had a blast coloring all over the walls of his box, leaning over to color on the outside. Then he “drove” the box for awhile. He was so content in his box world!
The funny part? The item I received was defective and I had to ship it back for a replacement… I wonder what they thought about that colorfully scribbled box they received! Note to self: be sure you are keeping the item before coloring on the box!
I can imagine cardboard boxes are just going to get more fun for us as he explores pretend play, building forts, and more!
How else have you found cardboard boxes useful for kids’ playtime?

My kids love playing with boxes. One time they received a large play kitchen. They ended up playing with the enormous box it came in more than the kitchen!

As you know we are BIG fans of these types of toys. We haven't given the kids crayons for use with them yet but I think they are at a good stage to do so. The cardboard house has been a huge hit - we put their little table inside and they eat all their snacks in their "fort".
