I love getting into crafts with my toddler! We’re able to do more now that he’s older and it just gets more and more exciting.
This week, we made a kite – it was from a kite given to him at Sunday School, and we finally had time and a nice day to make it, and go outside and try it. I wanted to share the steps with you because it’s really quite simple. Materials:
- Cardstock
- Stickers, Crayons
- Hole Punch
- Yarn/String
- Crepe streamers
- Stapler
The kite kit was a Noah’s Art shape and theme, but you could really do any shape/theme!
- Cut out a kite shape from sturdy cardstock. Probably any shape would work for this kind of kite – ours was Noah’s Ark to fit the party theme.
- Punch two holes at the top.
- Tie yarn/string throught the holes to pull the kite.
- Decorate the kite with stickers or coloring.
- Staple on a few lengths of streamers. (We put stickers/decor on these too!)
Now you’re ready to go! Run around the yard for some easy kite flying fun… and chances are, you’ll never get caught by the Kite-Eating Tree!
Whose going to go fly a kite this week!? Have any more kite-making tips? This was a real hit with my son and we’ll likely do it again soon!
