So we love camping. The tent-camping kind with dirt, and firewood, and trees, and real fire, and marshmallows all gooey till you wonder why did we think S'mores was a good idea anyway?
(I confess to a secret longing for a pop-up camper so I can have a "ready-to-go" homeplace everywhere we travel)! But that's another story!
When Gymboree sent a complimentary gift card to check out their fall fashions, I was thrilled to see the Camp Yosemite collection for baby boys! (I'm so happy BOTH my boys are still in the "baby boy" sizing !).
Here's the full lineup of what I got the boys - you will not believe the cuteness of matching socks, underwear, hoodies, jeans... all sturdy, quality clothing with adorable applique motifs!
Now... meet the happiest little campers... and the best dressed too! (tips for camp clothing for kids below the photos!).
TIPS FOR DRESSING YOUR KIDS FOR CAMPING!
1. LAYER, LAYer, Layer, layer... Camping in the fall especially brings on chilly mornings, warm afternoons, and cool evenings. Your kids will have clothing on-off-on. So set them up with layers right out of the gate, er tent! I love to layer a plain t-shirt or onesie under a long-sleeve t-shirt, then throw a fun striped hoodie on top.
2. Bring socks. I know, the kids will want to wear their flip flops all day long but... at breakfast and night time, their little tootsies will chill out, literally. Time to pull on some cute socks!
3. Lined pants. Because it's hard to layer the bottom half, I love the jersey lined pants by Gymboree, just an added layer of warmth for kids during this transitional time of year.
4. Accessorize. (Okay, matching underwear is not essential but, it's cute). What I really mean is, bring your hats and gloves. You may never need them. But if you do, you'll SO wish you had them!
Oh, incidentally, these tips would work just as well at the school bus stop as at the campsite!
Gymboree clothing always catches my eye because of their coordinating collections for each age group. Plus, knowing their clothing holds up well for hand-me-downs ... well that just earns Gymboree an extra merit badge in my book! Happy fall shopping, mamas!

My oldest son is starting kindergarten and he loves preppy styles. He loves to wear his fedora and boat shoes. My youngest just turned 3 and he loves to wear mixed patterns, rain boots and aviators with his little faux hawk hair. We will definitely go camping this fall when it drops out of the triple digits

The boys and I just went "back to school shopping" last week at our local Joann fabrics. 🙂 We purchased fabric for me to make a number of pants and some flannel pullovers for our 4 year old for the fall. Our 2 year old will have many of his brother's old clothes, but we did get fabric for a few things for him, as well. They're both so hard to fit that it's nice to be able to tailor clothes to them...not to mention it's fun for me!
