3 Delicious Pizza Topping Ideas to Elevate Pizza!

I’ve probably mentioned it before, but Friday night is Pizza Night in our house. Hubby’s absolute favorite food is pizza!

We make our own dough, and invent pizza topping ideas with whatever we have handy. Some weeks we go plain cheese or simple pepperoni.

However, since October is National Pizza Month, Classico sent us a complimentary collection of their sauces and a challenge to Elevate Pizza Night !

We started with three Classico® pizza sauces (Traditional, Fire Roasted or White), and an assortment of topping to create three delicious pizza topping ideas. (Oh, and plain cheese too because we always have to have that!).

Creamy White Sauce Garlic Veggie Pizza

Classico has a brand new White Pizza Sauce that won’t even be out until Spring of 2014! But let me tell you, keep an eye out because this sauce is creamy with a garlicky zing you will LOVE on your pizza! We topped the sauce with roasted garlic, kalamata olives, and broccoli florets. The flavors were great together, and I love getting in some veggies. (Tip: use frozen, thawed broccoli florets to cut down one step).

Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce with Hot Peppers & Pepperoni

Heat things up with Classico’s Fire Roasted Pizza Sauce topped with REAL hard pepperoni stick (chopped) and mild (or hot, if you like!) Banana Pepper rings. Very spicy and very good!!

Fresh Caprese Salad Pizza & Traditional Cheese Pizza

A simple take on pizza and the popular Italian fresh mozzarella salad. Layer fresh mozzarella and tomato slices over Classico Traditional Pizza Sauce. We also added dollops of ricotta for extra cheesiness! The tomato flavors really stand out in these two simple pizzas!

Having pizza every Friday night might seem too routine, but there’s so many ways to reinvent the classic pizza and come up with new pizza topping ideas. Pizza just never gets old to us! Classico has lot of pizza topping ideas on their site!
