5 Ways to Freshen Up for Spring

Sometimes at night I watch my two boys sleeping and think how lovely and peaceful.

Their breaths are deep and slow. All I see are their sleep flushed cheeks and pursed baby lips.

As far as health goes, we concern ourselves more with what we can see: food, body products, sun protection….but what about the invisible air we breath in all day long?

In summer, we close up our houses to keep that nice cool, conditioned air inside! Ahhh….in winter we do the same to stay warm. Without proper air circulation, our homes might build up a concentration of toxins in the air.

5 Ways to Freshen Up for Spring

Open the windows – definitely let in that fresh air. Watch the pollen, but do try to let the stale air out!

Bring in flowers – even budding branches from the yard will do

Change your curtains – or just remove them altogether! It’s amazing what a little light will do! At the very least, take them down and wash them to remove dust and allergens.

Throw out unwanted items – or have a tag sale – I’m going to!

Run an air purifier with allergen remover – or, turn on a fan dabbed with essential oils to freshen the house!

How Air Purifiers can help you freshen up for spring

To keep our home air cleaner, we’ve been using the complimentary Honeywell HPA200 True HEPA Large Room Air Purifier with Allergen Remover sent to us this spring.

The large air purifier filters the air in our large bedroom and master bath. Hubby says he really appreciates this when I blow dry my long curly hair as this puts a lot of moisture and product into the air upstairs

I love knowing my children are sleeping and playing in cleaner air.

We put the purifier on at night and it runs quietly with a subtle “white noise” effect on the general setting. There’s a turbo and germ setting as well. You can set the machine for 2, 4, or 8 hours if you want to run it while you’re out of the house.

Honeywell Air Purifiers have “true HEPA filtration,” which according to WebMD means it will “capture at least 90% of all particles 0.3 microns or larger in diameter that enter it.” There are filters on the market that claim to be HEPAs, but may not be as efficient, so look for a system that meets true HEPA filtration standards.

The new Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifiers capture up to 99.97% of microscopic airborne particles that pass through the filters (as small as 0.3 microns – 250x smaller than the width of a human hair!). Want to get ride of: airborne grass, tree and other pollen, dust, smoke, pet fur/dander, mold spores, bacteria and virus? absorb odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)? Yeah I had to check out what those were too – they come from from cleaning supplies, new carpet, paint, even buying new furniture can put particles in the air.

Particulates from the outdoors, daily life, new purchases – they all have a way of making our air impure… freshen up for spring with Honeywell!
