When’s the last time you took a vacation? We just did a short blog trip down to Orlando, Florida, to visit Caribe Royale, and boy, I’d love a full week (plus) vacation there!
The flamingo pink building is striking from a distance, and then dazzles you with an opulent foyer and extensive grounds.
What can you do at Caribe Royale?
Evenings often find families enjoying the 75 foot free-form pool and waterfall (open till 11!) or watching outdoor movies on a huge screen! We stayed at the top floor of Tower 3, with a view of the pool area. The kids were so mesmerized watching the pool at night!
I preferred to let our boys play in the kiddie play area! Perfectly sized for the younger crowd with fun spray structures.
The next morning, we started with a delightful breakfast buffet at The Tropicale – definitely not to be missed: hot and cold breakfast items abounded, including a waffle station and omelet station! (And this yummy hot fruit torte that was “fruit candy!”).
I love water. So the gigantic pool, waterfall, and waterslide was my absolute favorite place to spend the day. Diving under the waterfall or sliding down with my babies was just pure fun! Get to the pool early to secure a chair for you to relax and enjoy a smoothie or snack from one of the many hotel restaurants.
And. Be proud of me – I actually went to the fitness center! On vacation! Let me tell you – if I were here for a week, this would be (after the pool) my other hangout spot. The fitness center is generously sized with many cardio machines and a large weight training area. Towels and water are handy!
So what’s a Caribe Royale room like?
Our room was a suite with sitting area and bedroom, separated by the bathroom / sink area, which could sometimes be a tight squeeze with a family running about. Bath products provided are from Bath & Body Works – very handy when flying down and not being able to take all your liquids.
The sitting room had a large dorm-style fridge for storing snacks or leftovers. We were surprised with a yummy plate of “frost-your-own” cookies, and a cheese and cracker tray when we arrived. The boys had a lot of fun placing the mini M&Ms on their cookies!
Each night, we got a turn-down treat of chocolate on our pillows. (I think my boys are still wondering what happened to those chocolates! I’ll never tell!). I had requested a playard for the baby, and was very pleased to see it was already set up in our room upon arrival. We were tired after a long trip, and definitely can speak to the beds being pretty comfortable because we ALL slept for almost ten hours that first night. Rare for us!
My overall thoughts of Caribe Royale
I’d definitely have loved to spend more time at Caribe Royale, in Orlando, Florida, enjoying all the amenities. It’s just 1.5 miles from Disney, so we did take a short hop over to Disney Downtown for a little fun. Plus so many other Orlando attractions are close by!
