My poor untechnologied children. I hardly ever let them play with my smartphone or iPad.
No seriously, they are fine. But I have no excuse if I find dings and scratches (or worse) in my devices.
Since I need good technology protection (from myself!), I was happy Otterbox sent me a couple of their cases at no charge in exchange for posting my thoughts.
I’ve used Otterbox cases before and my opinion remains they are durable cases with detailed features.
The Defender Series iPad case gives three layers of protection against drops, bumps, and shocks. The screen protector is built in to prevent scratches, yet provides brilliantly clear viewing.
The textured exterior gives you gripping ability for holding onto your iPad (while trying to keep it out of reach of the kids!).
The shield stand has two jobs: a protective cover when the iPad is not in use, and then a kick stand when you want upright / hands free viewing.
I wanted something a bit lighter for my phone. I’d had the Defender series in the past, which was sturdy, but I wanted a slimmer profile. So I went with the Otterbox Commuter case for my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The Commuter case is sleek and sturdy, however, not going to protect as much against a drop. (Oops! I drop my phone a lot!). However, I have loved the slimmer profile for fitting into pockets easily.
I did not, however, enjoy figuring out the adhesive screen protector. It was rather challenging for me, and I end up ruining the first one I tried. Fortunately, Otterbox sent me a replacement; still, I think I prefer the built-in screen protector as easier to install and clearer to see through.
The bottom line though, is Otterbox cases perform well and gives me confidence my devices are well protected from damage.
How do you protect your technology?
Thanks to Otterbox for sending items for review! All opinions are 100% my own.
