Build or BOOM - a smashingly fun game for kids

I love a board game that is simple to set up and keeps the kids busy for a looong time! So the boys and I were both thrilled to get to review the new sensation in games: Build or BOOM - a smashingly fun game for kids!

Stacking fun for all ages

Build or BOOM has a simple concept that children will grasp and engage with immediately. Simply use the 40 unique building blocks and make a creation to match the construction card. There are 30 cards with 3 levels of difficulty for kids to achieve.

But here's the catch! All the builds are created on a special platform. This platform is connected via tubing to a dynamite blast.Simply draw a card at the players' level of difficulty, and begin building.

Building blocks include I-beams, Half Moons, the Foreman, and other fun construction-themed shapes. The 30 construction cards give a wide range of play, and you can also purchase additional card packs to increase the build options (or create your own!).

Whoever completes their build first, gets to smash the dynamite blast pad of their opponent, sending the other players tower flying! This is called blocksploding!

Stack... stack... BOOM!

Build or BOOM is for one or two players (competitively for two, but a single player can enjoy building and blocksploding their own towers!). While it's designed for ages 4+, Build or BOOM can be enjoyed by all ages. Pit mom and dad against each other, build in teams with your children, or let the kids go head to head!

You can modify play to fit your children's levels and interests. Our four-year-old does not enjoy having his construction blocksploded by his brother, because he feels like he never gets to finish something he's trying to accomplish. So we decided that when he plays, each player will "BOOM" their own build (instead of their opponents) to show they are done. This way the fastest player is still recognized, and my youngest gets to enjoy completing the assignment.

Our six year old though, fully enjoys the race to the finish, and likes to play with me or dad, since we don't mind getting my build demolished!
