Night Diapering ~ Pooters Fitted Cloth Diaper Review

Wouldn’t you know, I couldn’t do my weekly post until night time because the day has been so busy. How appropriate. Because I’m going to talk about night time diapering for the next few weeks.

Ah. Night diapering. I suppose if there is one time many CD moms avoid cloth it must be at night, right? (At least, several people I know who CD say they won’t do it at night).

At first, I thought using cloth at night was easy – but that was when baby was waking 2-3 times a night and I would change him each time he nursed. So of course I wondered why people were talking about how hard it was to night diaper. Then my baby started sleeping 5, 6, 7 hours at a stretch. And I became intimately familiar with soggy onesies and soaked sheets. Sigh.

I admit it took me MONTHS to get the night time diapering down. The bottom line is you need two things: a really good cover, and tons of absorbency!

Whether you use wool or another type of cover, I have come upon a diaper that has risen to the TOP for night time use. Pooters one-size fitted diaper.

First of all – who IS Pooters? I know I hadn’t heard of them before I started searching for great night diaper solution. But I am all about spreading the word about this great cloth company starte by a SAHM entrepreneur with an engineering degree!

Pooters is an online cloth diaper resource guide and retail store that provides simple, easy-to-use cloth diapers and simple, easy-to-follow cloth diapering information.

On to discussing the Pooters diaper. I received a hemp diaper with 6 layers for tons of absorbency! Some Pooters diapers are also made with bamboo. Did you know both bamboo and hemp are naturally antimicrobial? I think that is a great thing when your baby has to sleep in the same diaper for so many hours!

Inside the Pooters fitted are two boosters: a long one that snaps into the diaper and folds double, and a shorter booster you can place where needed. Having a boy, I like to double this one and tuck it under the bigger one for extra front absorbency!

What I find incredible about this diaper is how trim fitting it is. It’s gotta be the trimmest diaper I own. I mean, check it out! Of course, you’ll put a cover on, but still – that is a trim night diaper if I ever saw one!

The snaps make this fitted adjustable from 8-35 pounds. I just love snap diapers!

Okay on to what you’re really wondering – can a diaper this trim really work at night? Absolutely. I have been using the Pooters One Size Fitted for a couple months now, which means it gets put to the test about 2-3 times a week! I have NOT had a leak in this diaper ever, and my baby has recently started sleeping through the night too!

Now, of course, the diaper is totally soaked in the morning, but then, that’s where a great cover comes in… more on that next week!

Buy it: Pooters Fitteds are a reasonable $12, but if you buy several at a time, you can get up to 10% off the price. So if you’re looking to stock up on a great diaper for night (or otherwise!), I would highly recommend this fitted!

Win it: One lucky reader gets to win a free Pooters One-Size Diaper and have happy night time diapering ever after! Thanks, Pooters!!
