I love the soft feeling of my baby’s skin. Truly like rose petals, and I don’t mean to be cliche.
But just like delicate petals brown and crease when people touch them… baby skin is incredibly sensitive, and can flare up a hot pink with even a slight scrape from a fingernail edge left untrimmed.
I’ve noticed irritations on my baby’s skin from time to time, if a garment has a stray tag, or rough seam. Even natural fibers can irritate, because the clothing isn’t always designed with sensitive skin in mind.
My older son had a bout with eczema-type dry patches. He would itch and then scratch, which created more itch… Now I’m thinking about poor Baby – if he gets an itch or an irration, he doesn’t even have the motor skills to move the scratchy fabric or soothe a tender spot!
So I like to dress him in his HALO ComfortLuxe™ Silky Smooth sleepwear, which has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association.
I love cotton, but ComfortLuxe fabric has properties that make it more ideal than cotton. It’s a soft, smooth fabric that wicks away moisture and regulates temperature. These PJs are breathable and dry fast – twice as fast as cotton!
I’ve run my fingers over the flat interior seams and rollover cuffs, and to my eye and feel there aren’t any scratchy edges. Another great feature of this fabric is when you apply lotion to your baby, the fabric doesn’t suck up all the lotion moisturizer! So the lotion stays on baby’s skin where it can penetrate and heal dry spots as you intended!
This is the same style I reviewed for my older son over a year ago, and I loved those PJs so much! I’m glad my little one has his own pair now. I also noted HALO ComfortLuxe makes a flannel version and a baby coverall style, both great for winter!! I always worry my babies are cold at night, since you don’t want to have loose blankets in the crib. I definitely need to get a flannel pair!
