Family Playdate :: Berry Picking at Rose’s Berry Farm {Glastonbury, CT}

They’ll remember these days… muggy summer mornings filled with adventures and travel…

Yesterday, for instance, we took the kids out to Rose’s Berry Farm in South Glastonbury to pick some juicy blueberries.

A farm is a great place for a family play date because in addition to things like Pick Your Own crops, there’s so much to see and do!

Time at the farm playground riding the up-down-and-spin-around see-saws, racing through tunnels, and clambering up tractor tires to slide down slides.

A moment at the pond to look for frogs.

A ride on the big blue truck out to the berry fields. Good thing hubby was babywearing because there’s no seat belts!

Baby loved sitting on the grass and squishing and eating blueberries, and our toddler actually picked a few. And ate a lot! I like how Rose’s assigns people their own bushes to pick from, so you’re guaranteed a nice batch of berries and don’t have to “hunt” for ripe ones.

Finally, a stop at the farm store to check out pies and preserves.

Yes… These are the days our kids will remember.

{And I solemnly swear to make more of these days!}

When’s the last time you went on a family play date?

Oh my, I've never seen so many blueberries in one place. That would be fun. We grew our own blackberries and will harvest grapes later this year. That has been fun.

As far as family play dates, we do at least one per week and love it. I am glad you are recording them - I love looking back at our family times and reading about them and especially looking at the photos. These are truly the days you will remember.

I too love A feeding E. You have so many cute pictures it must be hard to chose something for a photo Christmas card each year.
